Stockholm Arlanda Airport Terminal 5

We arrived at the airport less than 3 hours before departure and headed directly to security since we already had our mobile boarding passes and we only had hand luggage.

As usual, we had access to Fast Track which went smoothly 👍

SAS Gold Lounge

Flying in business class and having Star Alliance gold status, we always choose to use the Gold Lounge since the food offering is much better.

Aircraft, Airbus A321

Airbus A321 named Gumushane

Boarding, Gate 17

We left the lounge early since there's another passport control, and were at the gate by 16:25.

Around 16:36, the screen showed that the flight is delayed until 17:45. I checked where the plane was and saw that it made a detour, perhaps due to heavy traffic in Arlanda.

Boarding eventually started around 17:45.

Seat 2A

My seat 2A

The cabin is in a 2-2 configuration from rows 1-5 with a total of 20 seats, 12 of which were taken.

IFE controls

Magazines, duty free catalogue, safety instruction card

Under the left armrest is the tray table.

Moments after settling in, we were offered some welcome drinks.

Mike had the limonata while I had a glass of water.

Newspapers were also offered after awhile.

Push back was at 18:12 and by that time, the inflight safety video was also played.

Inflight safety video

We had a smooth take off at 18:25 and about 7 minutes later, the seat belt sign was turned off.

Movie selection

The crew distributed the usual Philips headphones moments later.

Dining

Menu card and beverage list

Moment later, drinks order were taken and then followed by the offering hot towels.

Appetizer

The "Grilled Swordfish" was very tasty 😋

To end the meal service, coffee, tea and cognac were offered.

Green tea

Lavatory

The lavatory offered the usual Molton Brown hand lotion and liquid soap.

Airshow

Airshow enroute to Istanbul

Landing at Istanbul Airport

We landed at Istanbul Airport around 23:33 and unfortunately, parked in a remote stand.

CONCLUSION

Since I've taken this flight a lot of times in the last years, I knew more or less what to expect. Just like with my past flights, the service was friendly, the meal was great and the seat was comfortable. Unfortunately, the flight delay and not having a passenger bridge upon arrival in Istanbul were not so nice things. Still, a very nice flight 😉
