New Year's Trip to Lisbon & Prague

This trip included traveling to Lisbon together with the Singelresor Group to celebrate New Year; spending a night in Stockholm; and then flying to Prague where I stayed for two nights. I did not make any flight review flying in TAP economy class although I have included reviews of the lounges I was able to visit during this trip.

Me and the Charles Bridge

First visit: January 2016
Places visited: Prague

A few weeks ago, I visited Prague for the first time. My first day was spent there visiting the Old Town Square and going up to the Old Town Hall Tower where I had a fantastic view of the square and its surroundings, as well as visiting the famous Charles Bridge. It was snowing on the two days I was there but it was actually something that made my visit more meaningful. Here are some of the attractions I was able to visit and would highly recommend to all my fellow travelers.

The Old Town Square: This is probably the most beautiful town square I have visited!

Tyn Church: Inside the church is Prague's oldest pipe organ. Unfortunately, I visited it on the morning before my flight back to Stockholm and I was informed that the pipe organ could only be seen during the mass, which on that day was at 6pm. In case you are planning to visit this church, make sure you know what times they have the mass.

Prague Astronomical Clock: This 600 year old clock is considered as one of the greatest treasures of the city.

Old Town Hall Tower: Built in the 14th century, it is one of the oldest town hall towers in Europe. From the tower, you will get the breathtaking view of the city so make sure you don't miss it.

Charles Bridge (Karluv most): A stunning bridge decorated with different monuments of saints and patron saints, this is simply not be missed when in Prague.

Prague Castle: This castle is the largest ancient castle in world. Inside the castle, you will find the beautiful St. Vitus Cathedral among others.

St. Nicholas Church: This beautiful church located in the old town square is hard to miss.

Jan Hus Memorial

The Powder Tower: This tower is one of the original city gates

Bethlehem Chapel (Betlemske Kaple)

Prague New City Hall (Nova Radnice)

The Old-New Synagogue (Staronova Synagoga): Since I did not have much time, I only bought the ticket for the synagogue but I would recommend buying the package where you can also visit the Jewish cemetery among others for a better price.

Rudolfinum: This building is seat of the Czech Philharmonic

The Dancing House

Legion Bridge (Most Legii)

National Theater

The City of Prague Museum

Memorial of the Second Resistance Monument

Kafka Museum

St. Nicolas Cathedral: Here, you also have a chance to go up the tower and have a fantastic view of the city.

Infant Jesus of Prague  (Church of Our Lady Victorious)

State Opera

National Museum

Wenceslas Monument: This monument is located in the southeast side of the Wenceslas Square near the National Museum

Municipal House Hall

Museum Voskovych Figurin

Divadlo Hybernia: A repertory theater

Diamond Museum

Watching a concert in Prague: As you would find out during your visit, the ticket prices to different concerts are very reasonable.

Eating the traditional cake, trdelnik. I had mine during my visit to the Prague Castle and it tasted great!

Taking a ride on a metro, tram or bus: During my visit, I bought a 24 hour ticket which costed 110kc.

Czech money: In case you are into collecting coins from different countries, this is how some of their coins and bill look like.
