Qantas First Class Dubai-London on the A380 kangaroo

Complimentary Chauffeur Service

I was in town meeting a friend that night so I booked a complimentary chauffeur service online for a 9:25pm airport drop off. Emirates is in charge for this service thru their partnership with Qantas and after meeting the friendly Indian chauffeur outside the Sofitel Hotel, I was on my way to the airport on a Mercedes Benz in no time at all. Upon arrival at the airport's dedicated area for premium passengers, a staff came and greeted me while another one offered to help me with my luggage but since I had none, I went straight to the check in desks.

Check-in

The Qantas First Class check in desks (41-43) were still closed when I arrived at the airport and was supposed to open three hours before departure. Luckily, I already had my boarding pass issued by the agent in Doha so after clearing the immigration, I went to the Emirates First Class Lounge where I enjoyed a few hours of their excellent food and service.

Boarding, gate A24

Boarding started about 30 minutes before departure at gate A24. From the lounge, passengers have direct access to the aircraft which is cool.

Elevator to the jet bridge, shared with economy class passengers.

CONCLUSION

I thought that there were a few positives and negatives on this flight. I appreciated the fact that the cabin attendant who took care of our side of the cabin addressed me by my name and that she actually asked for the right pronunciation of my surname. She also willingly explained to me all about the seat features when I told her that it was my first time on the Qantas A380. The turndown service was also very nice. The complimentary drop off service to the airport arranged by partner airline Emirates was great as well.

For the not so nice parts, I thought that my seat 2K was a bit dirty with a few stains (as you can see on the picture). Also the pajamas and slippers are probably not of the best quality which makes it ironic that they have to write a "First" logo on them. The food, as reviewed by other known bloggers were more like business class food. Unfortunately, there was only one flight attendant serving nine passengers (the cabin was full) so eventhough it was an evening flight, it was not enough. The service was more like hurrying so as to be able to have all the work done 👎 I would have wanted to taste their dessert and order some more snacks but I felt like I was asking too much so all I had on this fairly long flight were the ones I've written above. Now that I know what Qantas first class service is like, I would probably not choose them again unless they make some improvements.
