Review: Lufthansa Senator Lounge, Berlin Tegel Airport (TXL)

Trip to Budapest and Berlin in February

A couple of weeks ago, I traveled to Budapest and stayed there for three nights. I stayed at both Hilton properties and then on my way back to Stockholm, I spent one night in Berlin. I flew with Lufthansa via Munich in economy class so I did not include any flight reviews but I was able to visit a few lounges along the way. From Berlin, I flew on SAS in economy class but with my Star Alliance gold card, I was able to visit the Lufthansa Senator Lounge in Berlin.

CONCLUSION

Knowing that Berlin Tegel Airport is not a Lufthansa hub, I did set my expectations low during my recent visit here. Surprisingly, this is a very nice lounge and is no different from the other Lufthansa lounges in Frankfurt and in Munich. Entrance to the Senator Lounge is to the right of the reception as the Business Lounge is on the left side. I found the lounge quite large and spacious and during the whole time I was there (from 2:30pm to 4:30pm), it never got crowded. I loved the fact that they had really good selection of food from the buffet with soup, rice, and a dish of the day which was "döner". The wine selection was also extensive. Lastly, the wifi connection was fast. The only thing that was missing was a shower. Overall, this is a very nice lounge and is definitely worth spending your time at before your flight from Tegel Airport.
